The Style Shop

The Style Shop Starter Course

The Style Shop Starter Course is a three-week crash course in sewing and styling. Students will learn the fundamentals of sewing and styling, how to operate a sewing machine and the basics of sewing using a checklist designed specifically for them. The Starter Course will end with a sewing challenge between the qualifying participants. All equipment and supplies are provided for this class.

Enrollment limit – 10 Students

Workshop Houston Starter Courses are FREE and open to students entering 6th to 8th grade. Space is limited. Enrollment is open to all Houston Area students but priority placement is given to students living in East End, Greater Third Ward, South Park, and Sunnyside Neighborhoods. Applications are accepted on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Jasmine is a fashion designer and owner of Astonishing Apparel. She’s styled and designed for artists in the music industry and brings her experience into the Style Shop to show the students that fashion can be a hobby or a career.
